Film Screening: "Strings"

In an alternate puppet world, all marionettes are connected to a higher power by their strings. When one is severed, they lose use of that limb, and, if their head-string is cut, they die. After a guilty king (Julian Glover) commits suicide, his scheming brother (Derek Jacobi) depicts it as a murder by a rebel tribe. Prince Hal (James McAvoy), the heir to the throne, is sent in disguise on a revenge mission, during which he learns of his uncle's plotting and the dark secrets of his own people.

Membership Meeting: Film Screening "Kooky"

The Guild will host a film screening at Sticks n' Stones Farm in Newtown.

"Young Ondra has asthma and so his mom throws away his favorite toy: a musty old stuffed bear named Kooky. That night Ondra dreams that Kooky is determined to find his way back home from the dump. In the boy's fantasy, the bear gets lost in a forest occupied by strange animals and remarkable beings that he never heard of while living on the toy shelf in Ondra's room. And of course even in this small imaginary world, true good exists as does real evil, which Kooky must face up to in order to become a real hero."

Head --Rated "R"

Rated "R"

"HEAD" is a one of a kind film starring an all puppet cast in a throwback
to the slasher films of the 1970's and 1980's. A group of twenty
somethings go for a nice fall weekend camping trip and end up in the
middle of nightmare they may never escape from…
Following the film the film makers along with cast members will be on hand
for a Q&A session for anyone interested.

HEAD is Rated R, for gore, horror, four letter words and anything else
you'd expect in a horror movie starring puppets, so we advise leaving the
kids at home!

Tickets are $5
